Unless the curse starts at range with td's. Vaga every time. Scrams can be re-applied almost instantly after being cap's out, projectiles use no cap so continue to **** face. Also note that its not that common to find a curse with td's these days, they rely on more buff and neut/hams combination.

If the Vagabond has RF EMP loaded, and the Curse lands at 0km, and the Curse has a very poor buffer (say, only 1x LSE) and not enough neuts to cap out the Vagabond in one cycle, then it's not unreasonable that the Vagabond could overload guns and MWD, rush the curse (bumping him too to wreck his agility), and blow through the Curse before the Curse (being much slower than the Vagabond typically) can pull away and stabilize the situation with neuts+TDs.
If the Vaga chucks barrage, or the Curse has a good enough buffer (2x LSE + extender rigs), or most importantly comes in at range and has at least one TD fit, the Vaga's pretty much out of luck.

1) Vagabond pilot with a scram = idiot Vagabond pilot. Why the hell would you want to fit a scram on a ship that desperately wants to avoid being in web/scram range?
2) Curse pilot with no TD = idiot Curse pilot. A single TD can remove 100% of a target's dps, and will still greatly reduce the dps of even the ones that can still fire back. No other mid slot module provides that much tank, so why would you fit other "tank" instead?

Cap Out vaga in one cycle. Pulse mwd out of vaga range, apply both optimal scripts. Orbit out to 15km ish, wait till fully cooked. You won't need all the neuts after he's capped out. Just need the small and maybe a medium neut to keep him capped out.

Nobody would win, assuming competent pilots the vagabond will be burning off as soon as curse lands on grid. The neuts might still take his cap, but he is already out of disruptor range, and the minimal cap recharge that no neuting can remove provides enough energy to warp off the grid.

I've killed lolCurses that had 4 missile launchers with a Vagabond before, but a proper fit on the Curse.. the Vaga won't stand a chance.

Vaga won't go on grid with a curse. That said, if the curse actually catches a vaga then it's epically one sided in favor of the curse regardless of starting range. This is assuming the curse pilot isn't a complete ******.
I've never had a 1v1 curse vs vaga, but I did have a 3v1 a month or two ago. It was me in a curse vs a jaguar, vagabond and myrmidon. The jaguar and vagabond died. The myrmidon popped ECM drones and bolted as soon as he got a jam. Here's the km's, both were reasonably fit.Linkage

In my experience the Vaga will quickly shoot down a Curse's drones, and then the Curse will have to run away. Or maybe I just need to train Drone Durability higher

Interesting thing is that I watched this very thing happen recently and both ships survived to fight again. They dance around each other trying to find a weakness with many variables and in the end it seemed fairly even matched. 3 times they engaged each other 1 going to the vaga ad another falling to the curse, the 3rd time the vaga ran because the another curse jumped in to finish the deal.
I think a lot of the way things happened is based on the pilot skill and understanding on how to use the ship they're flying. So something like this would require more in game observation IMO.

And strangely... a simple plated Rupture will rip a curse to ribbons face to face (seen it more than a few times, usually curse pilot gets ****y facing a T1 ship, and gets ripped a new one).
Vaga relies on speed; kill that and it runs or dies, especially if it can't shoot back.

Don't be silly. A good Curse pilot will not lose to a Rupture - those are just examples of really terrible Curse pilots that decide to engage when they are inside web & scram range.
