I’m 30 weeks this week, is it normal for baby to frequently have hiccups?

My OB told me hiccups are a good sign! It doesn’t bother the baby at all and it’s a sign of healthy brain activity. A fetus doesn’t need to breath so hiccups aren’t necessary. It’s their brain practicing

Your definitely not alone in this. This baby hiccups all the time. Everyday and anywhere from 1-3 times. I was worried too but it seems like a common thing. I will bring it up with my OB at my next appointment just to hear what she has to say about it though.

My first had them very frequently. I loved the sensation but, was worried too. Was told frequent hiccups had been associated with intelligence. So that calmed me. He is 18 now and a pretty smart kid, always has been. I am due with my 3rd baby and this one is having them 2-4 times a day. I think it is a good sign.
