🎮While we don't have E3 anymore, #thegameawards are getting very close.E3 events have been a massive part of the gaming calendar for over a decade. Every June, people would spend a few evenings (or nights) to see trailers of the latest and most exciting games. All major publishers would come together in Los Angeles for a very packed showcase. The past few years saw a massive shift. Between the ease of modern streaming and offline event restrictions, publishers decided to host game showcases themselves. Why rush games to meet an external deadline when you can show things at your own pace? This realization left no chance for a revival of E3 in 2023.This is where The Game Awards struck gold back in 2018. The event recognises excellence in gaming. You're expected to celebrate a recent success, not pressured into showing something new. Yet, if your teams had a good year, why not try and get some love for their work in December? The awards part amplifies community feeling, so your trailer is actually displayed at the year's most popular games showcase.

E3, one of the most notable events in gaming, is now a thing of the past.The Entertainment Software Association officially announced that E3 will no longer be continuing after 20+ years of operation, mainly focused around Los Angeles, California.Before 2017, E3 was an industry-only event, with individuals wishing to attend having to verify their professional relationship with the gaming industry. As we kick off the new year, I'm super pumped for what the gaming world has in store. 2024 is promising some long-awaited releases that have got me super excited! First up, Nightingale from Inflexion Games. Originally slated for 2022, this game's finally dropping this year. The trailer, showcased at The Game Awards 2021, reveals a dark, monster-filled world. A glitchy portal dumps a bunch of Victorian-dressed folks into this eerie wasteland. Can't contain my excitement for this one!Then there's Nintendo's Princess Peach: Showtime. Seriously, how could I not be stoked? It's Peach's first lead role since Super Princess Peach in 2006.And the grand finale? Skull & Bones from Ubisoft. Revealed in 2017, it's finally sailing into our lives.
