He lived in the dorm (East Hall), pledged a fraternity (Sigma Phi Epsilon) and majored in biology with a minor in physical sciences, ultimately graduating in 1967 with a Bachelor of Science.โWe enjoyed the town,โ he said. โYou could walk to most restaurants and places youโd want to go. So, the president of the student body his senior year decided to go to law school (again, at Memphis), because โyou can do a lot of things with a law degree.โStrickland has no doubt that graduating from the The University of MemphisโCecil C. Humphreys School of Law helped his political career.
